Logistics Coordinator - dispatch and scheduling (Chicago, IL)

We are growing our team at Greenridge Orchard Telecom and adding a Logistics Coordinator whose main responsibility will be dispatch and scheduling. Technicians and office staff share information daily. What you will do • Coordinate with drivers, carriers and warehouse staff. • Report on on-time performance for field visits. • Schedule pickups and deliveries and keep customers informed of timing. • Track shipments and resolve delays and damage claims. • Prepare documents such as bills of lading and proofs of delivery. What we are looking for • Strong phone and email manner. • One or more years in logistics, dispatch or transportation. • Comfort with a transport-management system or spreadsheets. Nice to have • Experience with field visits. • Knowledge of freight terms. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Chicago, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
