Logistics Coordinator - dispatch and scheduling (Chicago, IL)

Fernwood Birch Freight coordinates shipments and warehousing around Chicago. We are hiring a Logistics Coordinator to take on dispatch and scheduling. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Chicago. What you will do • Track shipments and resolve delays and damage claims. • Prepare documents such as bills of lading and proofs of delivery. • Schedule pickups and deliveries and keep customers informed of timing. • Report on on-time performance for claims. • Coordinate with drivers, carriers and warehouse staff. What we are looking for • One or more years in logistics, dispatch or transportation. • Strong phone and email manner. • Comfort with a transport-management system or spreadsheets. Nice to have • Knowledge of freight terms. • Experience with claims. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Chicago. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
