Logistics Coordinator - carrier coordination (Richmond, VA)

Northwind Orchard Freight Group is looking for a Logistics Coordinator. The job centres on carrier coordination for carrier rates, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 27 people based in Richmond. What you will do • Schedule pickups and deliveries and keep customers informed of timing. • Report on on-time performance for carrier rates. • Track shipments and resolve delays and damage claims. • Coordinate with drivers, carriers and warehouse staff. • Prepare documents such as bills of lading and proofs of delivery. What we are looking for • Strong phone and email manner. • One or more years in logistics, dispatch or transportation. • Comfort with a transport-management system or spreadsheets. Nice to have • Experience with carrier rates. • Knowledge of freight terms.
