Logistics Coordinator - carrier coordination (Detroit, MI)

Fernwood Kestrel Markets operates grocery and general-merchandise stores around Detroit. We are hiring a Logistics Coordinator to take on carrier coordination. We like people who know our customers by name. What you will do • Track shipments and resolve delays and damage claims. • Report on on-time performance for promotions. • Schedule pickups and deliveries and keep customers informed of timing. • Prepare documents such as bills of lading and proofs of delivery. • Coordinate with drivers, carriers and warehouse staff. What we are looking for • One or more years in logistics, dispatch or transportation. • Comfort with a transport-management system or spreadsheets. • Strong phone and email manner. Nice to have • Knowledge of freight terms. • Experience with promotions. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Detroit, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
