Logistics Coordinator - carrier coordination (Des Moines, IA)

Northwind Orchard Telecom provides broadband and phone service around Des Moines, and we need a Logistics Coordinator to lead our carrier coordination. We keep people connected and take outages personally. What you will do • Report on on-time performance for field visits. • Prepare documents such as bills of lading and proofs of delivery. • Coordinate with drivers, carriers and warehouse staff. • Schedule pickups and deliveries and keep customers informed of timing. • Track shipments and resolve delays and damage claims. What we are looking for • Strong phone and email manner. • One or more years in logistics, dispatch or transportation. • Comfort with a transport-management system or spreadsheets. Nice to have • Experience with field visits. • Knowledge of freight terms. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Des Moines. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
