Logistics Coordinator - carrier coordination (Chicago, IL)

Fernwood Sable Manufacturing is looking for a Logistics Coordinator. The job centres on carrier coordination for work orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track shipments and resolve delays and damage claims. • Schedule pickups and deliveries and keep customers informed of timing. • Prepare documents such as bills of lading and proofs of delivery. • Report on on-time performance for work orders. • Coordinate with drivers, carriers and warehouse staff. What we are looking for • Strong phone and email manner. • Comfort with a transport-management system or spreadsheets. • One or more years in logistics, dispatch or transportation. Nice to have • Knowledge of freight terms. • Experience with work orders. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Chicago. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
