IT Support Specialist - user accounts and access (remote)

Cedar Beacon Water Authority is a public water utility serving the Chicago area. We are hiring an IT Support Specialist to take on user accounts and access. Our work is invisible when it goes well, and we are proud of that. What you will do • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. • Set up, repair and retire laptops, phones and printers. • Answer support requests by phone, chat and in person and log every ticket. • Keep an accurate asset list and patch schedule. • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. What we are looking for • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. Nice to have • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. • Experience with water quality. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Chicago. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
