IT Support Specialist - user accounts and access (remote)

Fernwood Beacon Manufacturing makes precision components in Boston. We are hiring an IT Support Specialist to take on user accounts and access. We value people who work safely and speak up. What you will do • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. • Keep an accurate asset list and patch schedule. • Set up, repair and retire laptops, phones and printers. • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. What we are looking for • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. Nice to have • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. • Experience with work orders. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Boston. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
