IT Support Specialist - user accounts and access (Chicago, IL)

Foxglove Forge Civic Services works with county and city offices around Chicago. We are hiring an IT Support Specialist to take on user accounts and access. Public service means patience, paperwork and pride in the outcome. What you will do • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. • Set up, repair and retire laptops, phones and printers. • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. • Answer support requests by phone, chat and in person and log every ticket. What we are looking for • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. Nice to have • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. • Experience with budget submissions. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Chicago, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
