IT Support Specialist - network troubleshooting (Richmond, VA)

Bright Birch Energy delivers power and gas plans across the Richmond region. We are hiring an IT Support Specialist to take on network troubleshooting. Reliability is the job, and people here take pride in answering the phone at 3 a.m. when needed. What you will do • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. • Answer support requests by phone, chat and in person and log every ticket. • Keep an accurate asset list and patch schedule. What we are looking for • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. Nice to have • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. • Experience with billing disputes. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Richmond. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
