IT Support Specialist - network troubleshooting (remote)

Foxglove West Energy supplies electricity and gas to homes and businesses around Oakland. We are hiring an IT Support Specialist to take on network troubleshooting. You would join a small organisation of about 47 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Set up, repair and retire laptops, phones and printers. • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. • Keep an accurate asset list and patch schedule. What we are looking for • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. Nice to have • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. • Experience with service connections. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Oakland. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
