IT Support Specialist - network troubleshooting (remote)

Amberfield Sparrow Environmental Services serves homes and businesses with collection and disposal in Birmingham, and we need an IT Support Specialist to lead our network troubleshooting. You would join a large organisation of about 443 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. • Keep an accurate asset list and patch schedule. • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. • Set up, repair and retire laptops, phones and printers. • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. What we are looking for • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. Nice to have • Experience with recycling loads. • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Birmingham. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
