IT Support Specialist - network troubleshooting (Madison, WI)

Northwind Timber Manufacturing is looking for an IT Support Specialist. The job centres on network troubleshooting for work orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 841 people based in Madison. What you will do • Keep an accurate asset list and patch schedule. • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. • Answer support requests by phone, chat and in person and log every ticket. • Set up, repair and retire laptops, phones and printers. • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. What we are looking for • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. Nice to have • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. • Experience with work orders. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Madison. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
