IT Support Specialist - network troubleshooting (Grand Rapids, MI)

Fernwood Sparrow Telecom is a telecommunications provider in Grand Rapids focused on reliable home and business connections. We are hiring an IT Support Specialist to take on network troubleshooting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. • Set up, repair and retire laptops, phones and printers. • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. • Answer support requests by phone, chat and in person and log every ticket. • Keep an accurate asset list and patch schedule. What we are looking for • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. Nice to have • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. • Experience with service installations. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Grand Rapids. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
