IT Support Specialist - network troubleshooting (Charleston, SC)

Fernwood Wilder Insurance provides coverage to households and businesses around Charleston. We are hiring an IT Support Specialist to take on network troubleshooting. We care about how people feel on the worst day of their year. What you will do • Set up, repair and retire laptops, phones and printers. • Answer support requests by phone, chat and in person and log every ticket. • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. What we are looking for • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. Nice to have • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. • Experience with underwriting files. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Charleston, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
