IT Support Specialist - help desk (remote)

Fernwood Manufacturing Group manufactures parts and assemblies at its Columbus plant. We are hiring an IT Support Specialist to take on help desk. You would join a large organisation of about 513 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. • Set up, repair and retire laptops, phones and printers. • Keep an accurate asset list and patch schedule. • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. • Answer support requests by phone, chat and in person and log every ticket. What we are looking for • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. Nice to have • Experience with scrap and rework. • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Columbus. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
