IT Support Specialist - help desk (Oakland, CA)

Silverline Umber Legal Group is a law firm in Oakland serving businesses and individuals, and we need an IT Support Specialist to lead our help desk. We are a close group and share the work. What you will do • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. • Keep an accurate asset list and patch schedule. • Answer support requests by phone, chat and in person and log every ticket. • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. What we are looking for • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. Nice to have • Experience with intake forms. • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Oakland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
