IT Support Specialist - help desk (Detroit, MI)

Westbrook Orchard Freight coordinates shipments and warehousing around Detroit. We are hiring an IT Support Specialist to take on help desk. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. • Answer support requests by phone, chat and in person and log every ticket. • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. • Set up, repair and retire laptops, phones and printers. • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. What we are looking for • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. Nice to have • Experience with proof of delivery. • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Detroit, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
