IT Support Specialist - device setup (Richmond, VA)

Harborlight Haven Insurance is an insurance company in Richmond with claims and service teams. We are hiring an IT Support Specialist to take on device setup. We care about how people feel on the worst day of their year. What you will do • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. • Keep an accurate asset list and patch schedule. • Set up, repair and retire laptops, phones and printers. • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. What we are looking for • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. Nice to have • Experience with catastrophe response. • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Richmond. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
