IT Support Specialist - device setup (remote)

Summit Vale Manufacturing manufactures parts and assemblies at its Detroit plant, and we need an IT Support Specialist to lead our device setup. Many of our supervisors started on the floor. What you will do • Set up, repair and retire laptops, phones and printers. • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. • Answer support requests by phone, chat and in person and log every ticket. • Keep an accurate asset list and patch schedule. • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. What we are looking for • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. Nice to have • Experience with customer orders. • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Detroit. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
