IT Support Specialist - device setup (Oakland, CA)

Amberfield Yarrow Civic Services Group supports public agencies in Oakland with budgeting, records and programmes. We are hiring an IT Support Specialist to take on device setup. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. • Keep an accurate asset list and patch schedule. • Answer support requests by phone, chat and in person and log every ticket. • Set up, repair and retire laptops, phones and printers. What we are looking for • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. Nice to have • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. • Experience with constituent requests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Oakland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
