IT Support Specialist - device setup (Birmingham, AL)

We are growing our team at Foxglove Quarry Arts Center and adding an IT Support Specialist whose main responsibility will be device setup. Evenings and weekends are part of the job. What you will do • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. • Set up, repair and retire laptops, phones and printers. • Answer support requests by phone, chat and in person and log every ticket. What we are looking for • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. Nice to have • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. • Experience with volunteer programmes. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Birmingham, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
