IT Support Specialist - device setup (Birmingham, AL)

Amberfield Ashton Environmental Services is looking for an IT Support Specialist. The job centres on device setup for collection routes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 15 people based in Birmingham. What you will do • Keep an accurate asset list and patch schedule. • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. • Answer support requests by phone, chat and in person and log every ticket. • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. What we are looking for • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. Nice to have • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. • Experience with collection routes. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Birmingham. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
