IT Support Specialist - asset tracking (Virginia Beach, VA)

Fernwood Basin Environmental Services Group collects and processes waste and recycling around Virginia Beach. We are hiring an IT Support Specialist to take on asset tracking. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Answer support requests by phone, chat and in person and log every ticket. • Set up, repair and retire laptops, phones and printers. • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. • Keep an accurate asset list and patch schedule. • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. What we are looking for • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. Nice to have • Experience with weigh tickets. • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Virginia Beach. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
