IT Support Specialist - asset tracking (remote)

Fernwood Mill Energy delivers power and gas plans across the Richmond region, and we need an IT Support Specialist to lead our asset tracking. We work closely with regulators and communities. What you will do • Set up, repair and retire laptops, phones and printers. • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. • Keep an accurate asset list and patch schedule. • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. What we are looking for • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. Nice to have • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. • Experience with meter readings. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Richmond. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
