IT Support Specialist - asset tracking (Providence, RI)

Harborlight Umber Freight moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Providence. We are hiring an IT Support Specialist to take on asset tracking. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. • Set up, repair and retire laptops, phones and printers. • Keep an accurate asset list and patch schedule. What we are looking for • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. Nice to have • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. • Experience with carrier rates. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Providence. • We reply to every applicant.
