IT Support Specialist - asset tracking (Providence, RI)

Fernwood West Energy supplies electricity and gas to homes and businesses around Providence. We are hiring an IT Support Specialist to take on asset tracking. You would join a small organisation of about 26 people based in Providence. What you will do • Answer support requests by phone, chat and in person and log every ticket. • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. • Set up, repair and retire laptops, phones and printers. • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. What we are looking for • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. Nice to have • Experience with usage data. • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Providence. • We reply to every applicant.
