IT Support Specialist - asset tracking (Birmingham, AL)

Silverline Vista Water Authority operates treatment plants and pipelines around Birmingham. We are hiring an IT Support Specialist to take on asset tracking. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. • Set up, repair and retire laptops, phones and printers. • Answer support requests by phone, chat and in person and log every ticket. What we are looking for • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. Nice to have • Experience with capital projects. • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Birmingham. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
