IT Support Specialist - asset tracking (Birmingham, AL)

Lumen Field Manufacturing makes precision components in Birmingham, and we need an IT Support Specialist to lead our asset tracking. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. • Keep an accurate asset list and patch schedule. • Answer support requests by phone, chat and in person and log every ticket. • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. What we are looking for • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. Nice to have • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. • Experience with tooling. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Birmingham, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
