IT Support Specialist - asset tracking (Birmingham, AL)

Ironwood Willow Manufacturing manufactures parts and assemblies at its Birmingham plant, and we need an IT Support Specialist to lead our asset tracking. Many of our supervisors started on the floor. What you will do • Set up, repair and retire laptops, phones and printers. • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. • Keep an accurate asset list and patch schedule. • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. What we are looking for • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. Nice to have • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. • Experience with customer orders. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Birmingham. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
