HR Business Partner - onboarding (Oakland, CA)

Fernwood Junction Markets is a Oakland retailer with stores, a distribution centre and online ordering. We are hiring an HR Business Partner to take on onboarding. You would join a small organisation of about 49 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Support hiring and onboarding for teams that work on store inventory. • Investigate concerns fairly and document the outcome. • Keep policies and records current and compliant. • Advise supervisors on attendance, performance and workplace concerns. • Handle leave, accommodation and benefits questions from start to finish. What we are looking for • Knowledge of employment law and leave rules. • Three or more years in HR. • Discreet, fair and direct. Nice to have • Experience with store inventory. • SHRM or HRCI certification. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Oakland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
