HR Business Partner - onboarding (Oakland, CA)

Harborlight Summit Learning Group runs classrooms and tutoring across the Oakland area, and we need an HR Business Partner to lead our onboarding. You would join a small organisation of about 31 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Handle leave, accommodation and benefits questions from start to finish. • Keep policies and records current and compliant. • Advise supervisors on attendance, performance and workplace concerns. • Support hiring and onboarding for teams that work on student accounts. • Investigate concerns fairly and document the outcome. What we are looking for • Three or more years in HR. • Knowledge of employment law and leave rules. • Discreet, fair and direct. Nice to have • Experience with student accounts. • SHRM or HRCI certification. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Oakland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
