HR Business Partner - onboarding (Detroit, MI)

Westbrook Orchard Freight is looking for an HR Business Partner. The job centres on onboarding for dock schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 21 people based in Detroit. What you will do • Support hiring and onboarding for teams that work on dock schedules. • Advise supervisors on attendance, performance and workplace concerns. • Handle leave, accommodation and benefits questions from start to finish. • Investigate concerns fairly and document the outcome. • Keep policies and records current and compliant. What we are looking for • Discreet, fair and direct. • Three or more years in HR. • Knowledge of employment law and leave rules. Nice to have • Experience with dock schedules. • SHRM or HRCI certification. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Detroit. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
