HR Business Partner - leave and accommodations (Detroit, MI)

Northwind Timber Manufacturing manufactures parts and assemblies at its Detroit plant. We are hiring an HR Business Partner to take on leave and accommodations. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep policies and records current and compliant. • Handle leave, accommodation and benefits questions from start to finish. • Investigate concerns fairly and document the outcome. • Support hiring and onboarding for teams that work on tooling. • Advise supervisors on attendance, performance and workplace concerns. What we are looking for • Knowledge of employment law and leave rules. • Discreet, fair and direct. • Three or more years in HR. Nice to have • Experience with tooling. • SHRM or HRCI certification. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Detroit, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
