HR Business Partner - leave and accommodations (Des Moines, IA)

Nova Harbor Civic Services supports public agencies in Des Moines with budgeting, records and programmes, and we need an HR Business Partner to lead our leave and accommodations. We follow procedures carefully and explain them clearly. What you will do • Keep policies and records current and compliant. • Handle leave, accommodation and benefits questions from start to finish. • Advise supervisors on attendance, performance and workplace concerns. • Investigate concerns fairly and document the outcome. • Support hiring and onboarding for teams that work on public records. What we are looking for • Three or more years in HR. • Knowledge of employment law and leave rules. • Discreet, fair and direct. Nice to have • Experience with public records. • SHRM or HRCI certification. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Des Moines. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
