HR Business Partner - employee relations (San Jose, CA)

Fernwood Mill Transit Planning plans bus and rail service for cities around San Jose. We are hiring an HR Business Partner to take on employee relations. We value plain explanations. What you will do • Keep policies and records current and compliant. • Advise supervisors on attendance, performance and workplace concerns. • Investigate concerns fairly and document the outcome. • Handle leave, accommodation and benefits questions from start to finish. • Support hiring and onboarding for teams that work on ridership counts. What we are looking for • Discreet, fair and direct. • Knowledge of employment law and leave rules. • Three or more years in HR. Nice to have • Experience with ridership counts. • SHRM or HRCI certification. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in San Jose. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
