HR Business Partner - employee relations (remote)

Fernwood Iron Construction is a New Orleans contractor with project managers, trades and support staff, and we need an HR Business Partner to lead our employee relations. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep policies and records current and compliant. • Investigate concerns fairly and document the outcome. • Handle leave, accommodation and benefits questions from start to finish. • Support hiring and onboarding for teams that work on permits. • Advise supervisors on attendance, performance and workplace concerns. What we are looking for • Discreet, fair and direct. • Knowledge of employment law and leave rules. • Three or more years in HR. Nice to have • SHRM or HRCI certification. • Experience with permits. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in New Orleans. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
