HR Business Partner - employee relations (Oakland, CA)

Nova Sparrow Freight moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Oakland. We are hiring an HR Business Partner to take on employee relations. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep policies and records current and compliant. • Advise supervisors on attendance, performance and workplace concerns. • Handle leave, accommodation and benefits questions from start to finish. • Support hiring and onboarding for teams that work on loads and lanes. • Investigate concerns fairly and document the outcome. What we are looking for • Knowledge of employment law and leave rules. • Discreet, fair and direct. • Three or more years in HR. Nice to have • SHRM or HRCI certification. • Experience with loads and lanes. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Oakland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
