HR Business Partner - employee relations (Oakland, CA)

Harborlight Pine Press produces print and digital publications in Oakland, and we need an HR Business Partner to lead our employee relations. Many of us have been here for ten years or more. What you will do • Keep policies and records current and compliant. • Investigate concerns fairly and document the outcome. • Support hiring and onboarding for teams that work on bindery work. • Advise supervisors on attendance, performance and workplace concerns. • Handle leave, accommodation and benefits questions from start to finish. What we are looking for • Three or more years in HR. • Discreet, fair and direct. • Knowledge of employment law and leave rules. Nice to have • Experience with bindery work. • SHRM or HRCI certification. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Oakland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
