HR Business Partner - employee relations (Charlotte, NC)

Fernwood Umber Inspection Services tests and certifies buildings, pipelines and equipment around Charlotte, and we need an HR Business Partner to lead our employee relations. Technicians travel and report carefully. What you will do • Handle leave, accommodation and benefits questions from start to finish. • Investigate concerns fairly and document the outcome. • Advise supervisors on attendance, performance and workplace concerns. • Support hiring and onboarding for teams that work on field inspections. • Keep policies and records current and compliant. What we are looking for • Knowledge of employment law and leave rules. • Three or more years in HR. • Discreet, fair and direct. Nice to have • Experience with field inspections. • SHRM or HRCI certification. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Charlotte. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
