HR Business Partner - employee relations (Birmingham, AL)

Westbrook Umber Civic Services supports public agencies in Birmingham with budgeting, records and programmes, and we need an HR Business Partner to lead our employee relations. Public service means patience, paperwork and pride in the outcome. What you will do • Investigate concerns fairly and document the outcome. • Advise supervisors on attendance, performance and workplace concerns. • Keep policies and records current and compliant. • Support hiring and onboarding for teams that work on permits. • Handle leave, accommodation and benefits questions from start to finish. What we are looking for • Discreet, fair and direct. • Three or more years in HR. • Knowledge of employment law and leave rules. Nice to have • SHRM or HRCI certification. • Experience with permits. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Birmingham. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
