HR Business Partner - compensation reviews (San Jose, CA)

Fernwood Basin Arts Center is a cultural organisation in San Jose presenting exhibitions and performances. We are hiring an HR Business Partner to take on compensation reviews. Evenings and weekends are part of the job. What you will do • Keep policies and records current and compliant. • Advise supervisors on attendance, performance and workplace concerns. • Investigate concerns fairly and document the outcome. • Handle leave, accommodation and benefits questions from start to finish. • Support hiring and onboarding for teams that work on exhibitions. What we are looking for • Knowledge of employment law and leave rules. • Three or more years in HR. • Discreet, fair and direct. Nice to have • SHRM or HRCI certification. • Experience with exhibitions. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in San Jose, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
