HR Business Partner - compensation reviews (Chicago, IL)

Fernwood Birch Freight coordinates shipments and warehousing around Chicago, and we need an HR Business Partner to lead our compensation reviews. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Advise supervisors on attendance, performance and workplace concerns. • Handle leave, accommodation and benefits questions from start to finish. • Support hiring and onboarding for teams that work on customer tracking. • Investigate concerns fairly and document the outcome. • Keep policies and records current and compliant. What we are looking for • Knowledge of employment law and leave rules. • Discreet, fair and direct. • Three or more years in HR. Nice to have • Experience with customer tracking. • SHRM or HRCI certification. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Chicago, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
