Financial Analyst - variance reporting (San Jose, CA)

Fernwood Mill Transit Planning is a transit-planning firm in San Jose working with agencies and riders. We are hiring a Financial Analyst to take on variance reporting. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in San Jose. What you will do • Build and update budgets and rolling forecasts with department leads. • Automate recurring reports so they take hours, not days. • Model the cost of accessibility audits and recommend where to save. • Prepare board and lender packs with clear charts. • Support pricing and investment decisions with careful analysis. What we are looking for • Two to five years in financial analysis or a similar role. • Advanced Excel skills; SQL or BI experience helps. • Comfort presenting numbers to people who are not finance specialists. Nice to have • Experience with ridership counts. • A relevant degree or certification. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in San Jose. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
