Financial Analyst - variance reporting (San Jose, CA)

Foxglove Timber Insurance Group is looking for a Financial Analyst. The job centres on variance reporting for catastrophe response, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Explain monthly variances in plain language for managers. • Model the cost of catastrophe response and recommend where to save. • Prepare board and lender packs with clear charts. • Build and update budgets and rolling forecasts with department leads. • Automate recurring reports so they take hours, not days. What we are looking for • Two to five years in financial analysis or a similar role. • Advanced Excel skills; SQL or BI experience helps. • Comfort presenting numbers to people who are not finance specialists. Nice to have • A relevant degree or certification. • Experience with premium billing. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in San Jose. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
