Financial Analyst - variance reporting (San Diego, CA)

Nova Linden Civic Services is looking for a Financial Analyst. The job centres on variance reporting for permits, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Public service means patience, paperwork and pride in the outcome. What you will do • Model the cost of permits and recommend where to save. • Automate recurring reports so they take hours, not days. • Explain monthly variances in plain language for managers. • Prepare board and lender packs with clear charts. • Build and update budgets and rolling forecasts with department leads. What we are looking for • Comfort presenting numbers to people who are not finance specialists. • Advanced Excel skills; SQL or BI experience helps. • Two to five years in financial analysis or a similar role. Nice to have • A relevant degree or certification. • Experience with budget submissions.
