Financial Analyst - variance reporting (remote)

Nova Rook Water Authority is looking for a Financial Analyst. The job centres on variance reporting for capital projects, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Crews and office staff work closely together. What you will do • Explain monthly variances in plain language for managers. • Automate recurring reports so they take hours, not days. • Build and update budgets and rolling forecasts with department leads. • Prepare board and lender packs with clear charts. • Support pricing and investment decisions with careful analysis. What we are looking for • Comfort presenting numbers to people who are not finance specialists. • Advanced Excel skills; SQL or BI experience helps. • Two to five years in financial analysis or a similar role. Nice to have • A relevant degree or certification. • Experience with water quality. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Birmingham. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
