Financial Analyst - variance reporting (Oakland, CA)

Amberfield Yarrow Civic Services Group provides shared administrative services to local governments around Oakland. We are hiring a Financial Analyst to take on variance reporting. We follow procedures carefully and explain them clearly. What you will do • Model the cost of constituent requests and recommend where to save. • Prepare board and lender packs with clear charts. • Automate recurring reports so they take hours, not days. • Support pricing and investment decisions with careful analysis. • Build and update budgets and rolling forecasts with department leads. What we are looking for • Advanced Excel skills; SQL or BI experience helps. • Comfort presenting numbers to people who are not finance specialists. • Two to five years in financial analysis or a similar role. Nice to have • Experience with budget submissions. • A relevant degree or certification. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Oakland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
