Financial Analyst - variance reporting (Oakland, CA)

Harborlight Summit Learning Group runs classrooms and tutoring across the Oakland area, and we need a Financial Analyst to lead our variance reporting. You would join a small organisation of about 25 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Build and update budgets and rolling forecasts with department leads. • Support pricing and investment decisions with careful analysis. • Model the cost of learning materials and recommend where to save. • Automate recurring reports so they take hours, not days. • Explain monthly variances in plain language for managers. What we are looking for • Two to five years in financial analysis or a similar role. • Comfort presenting numbers to people who are not finance specialists. • Advanced Excel skills; SQL or BI experience helps. Nice to have • Experience with school calendars. • A relevant degree or certification. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Oakland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
