Financial Analyst - variance reporting (Detroit, MI)

We are growing our team at Bright Rook Water Authority and adding a Financial Analyst whose main responsibility will be variance reporting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Model the cost of meter reading and recommend where to save. • Support pricing and investment decisions with careful analysis. • Explain monthly variances in plain language for managers. • Build and update budgets and rolling forecasts with department leads. • Automate recurring reports so they take hours, not days. What we are looking for • Comfort presenting numbers to people who are not finance specialists. • Two to five years in financial analysis or a similar role. • Advanced Excel skills; SQL or BI experience helps. Nice to have • A relevant degree or certification. • Experience with water quality. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Detroit, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
